My Journey

I have spent my youth growing up on a small Dutch island creating a love for everything outdoor and adventurous.

Professional Background

Starting my career, I have worked in mental and physical healthcare in many forms, with a variety of different challenges. This went from the very basic forms of care with homeless youth, learning how to regulate emotions with children and young adults, up to adults with acquired brain injury (ABI) re-discovering their physical and mental capabilities.

With a background in psychomotor therapy, sports and stepping out of the comfort zone have always been central to my work. I’ve supported people in regaining their strength and overcoming mental limitations, and later ran my own practice focused on helping young men express and manage their emotions in healthy ways.

In 2012, I entered the teambuilding world, bringing my experience of working with people into a new practice: the Maori Haka. After meeting the Turoa family, led by Whaia Wai Turoa, my brother and I traveled with them for two years and were granted permission to share the famous ‘Ka Mate’ haka with respect and acknowledgment. The power, themes, and beauty of this tradition continue to inspire me. What started as a passion has since grown into my full-time work.

Over the years, I’ve worked internationally with teams of all sizes, from global corporations to local businesses. I believe that, at their core, people and teams share the same needs: to belong, contribute, be recognized, and grow into the best version of themselves.

Personal Interests

Growing up on an island I have a love for everything that has to do with water, wind and being outdoors. In my spare time I love to sail, go mountain biking or go for walks in nature with my family and our dog.
